Summary:

Soooo we’re going to break the rules a little bit here, as we did with Batman and The Arrow before him, and feature Deadpool, even though he isn’t a character that originated in a video game.  That’s okay, because Deadpool is a badass and he don’t need no vidya games!  Actually, well, he’s got his own game, plus he’s in a couple other Marvel games.  Also, just to be clear, you don’t actually want to become Deadpool, much like you wouldn’t want to become Kratos.  Dude’s messed up.  This is all just for funsies.

So, Deadpool, as I previously mentioned, is a badass.  Dude’s managed to kill all of the Marvel universe at one point (granted, that was an Elseworlds type storyline,) he has a healing factor on par with Wolverine’s (depending on which Wolverine storyline you’re talking about,) he’s a capable fighter with just about any weapon that exists, and he’s got a witty sense of humor on par with Spider Man.  He’s also insane, but, y’know, no one’s perfect.  With his suite of skills, muscled-yet-lean build, and acrobatic talents, Deadpool fits in the Fighter archetype, specifically the Weapons Master class.

The Deadpool Workout

In The Deadpool Workout, we’re going to create an explosive, powerful body that’s still lithe and lean enough to imitate Michael Jackson moves in the middle of a firefight.  We’ll be using some weights, some bodyweight, and some plyometric stuff to accomplish this, as well as a well-rounded cardiovascular workout to give you the staying power you need to last.  While fighting bad guys.  Shut up, get your mind out of the gutter (or keep it there, I guess, if you’re trying to be Deadpool.)

How to Get Shredded Like Ryan Reynolds

In How to Get Shredded like Ryan Reynolds we’re going to take a page out of Deadpool’s book and break the fourth wall for a bit.  This was actually a specific request from a recent reader, so we’re going to take a look at what kind of measures Ryan Reynolds needed to take to get the body you see in the Deadpool movie.  Worth noting that what we discuss here will go for basically any “actor became shredded/built for this role” situation.  Abs chiseled enough to grill chimichangas on ’em!

The Skills of Deadpool

In The Skills of Deadpool we’re going to get back in character and talk about how Deadpool does some of the things he does, from swordsmanship, to shooting, to acrobatics.  Mr. Pool’s quick-thinking improvisation and utilization of his healing factor will also be discussed.  We’ll finish out with how to boost your own “healing factor,” by increasing your rate of recovery and healing as much as you can.  You probably won’t be regrowing limbs anytime soon, but hey, every little bit counts.

The Minds of Deadpool

Finally, in The Minds of Deadpool we’re going to examine Deadpool’s motivations, and their roots.  I mean, this is a guy that is literally in love with Death, there’s gotta be a story to tell there!  Deadpool’s also interesting in that he’s the only Marvel character to break through the “fourth wall,” the imaginary barrier separating fictitious characters from those reading about/watching them.  We’ll also talk a bit about how Deadpool’s fractured personalities can be both a help and a hindrance in his day-to-day life.

This should be fun!  I’m certainly looking forward to it, and I hope you are, too!  I’ll see you again on Thursday, with The Deadpool Workout!  As always, remember to live boldly, change the world, and continue to be awesome!
