Hey guys, sorry I’m late, here’s the post that should have gone up on Thursday! Difficult work situation plus nasty cold equals difficulty in updates, unfortunately…
I figured I’d try something I haven’t done before, and review a fitness product I use! This is the Gold’s Gym Stayball. It’s a nice exercise ball, and one of my favorite pieces of equipment, so I thought I’d do a little write up on it!
Price: Excellent
As far as fitness equipment goes, the Stayball is extremely affordable, coming in at under $30 on Amazon. It’s shipped un-inflated, so shipping costs are low, and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Mine has stood up to regular usage by two people for close to a year now with no complaints, minus the occasional re-inflation when we start to squeeze some of the air out of it.
Quality: Good
As stability balls go, the Stayball can hang tough with any others, as far as I’m concerned. We have the 65 centimeter model, because we’re within the height/weight requirements, but there’s also a 75 centimeter model, if you’re taller/heavier. As I said before, the ball has survived a year of wear and tear, just requiring the occasional “plumping up” due to heavy use. The actual initial inflation takes a good bit of effort, though, to be prepared to get a small workout in with the hand pump!
Usefulness: Excellent
Oh my goodness I’m pretty sure I get more use out of this thing than anything else in my fitness arsenal. It’s great for abdominal exercises (and it has some great suggestions printed right on the ball), I also use it to sit on when I’m doing my overhead dumbbell presses, plus I lie on it for my butterfly curls! They can also be used as substitutes for chairs while sitting at your computer, to emphasize good posture/core stability, though I don’t use mine as such, so I can’t speak to that. Overall, a stability ball is an incredibly versatile fitness tool.
Final Verdict:
Gold’s Gym Stayball
Price: 5
Quality: 4
Usefulness: 5
Final Verdict: 5 out of 5 Stars
Overall, I enthusiastically recommend the Gold’s Gym Stayball. I use it in almost every workout I have, and don’t have a single complaint about its quality OR price.
