Overview:
Arthas is our final character spotlight of 2016, and our first ever character from the Warcraft universe! Originally a Paladin and prince of Lordaeron, Arthas fell from glory when he was corrupted by the Lich King, and tricked into merging with the vengeful spirit. While it is, in some ways, difficult to separate the character of Arthas from the Lich King he would become, we’re going to do our best to examine the whole of his character, both pre- and post-Lich King status.
With his large build and penchant for heavy armor and weapons, Arthas is obviously a Tank. As a Paladin, his job in life was to protect those who would stand in the light. Though he retains all of these skills and attributes upon his undeath, he transforms into a Death Knight upon taking up Frostmourne. With that said, we don’t have a class for “Death Knight” in RPG Fitness yet, so I think we’ll just stick with the Paladin classification for now.
The Arthas Workout is going to be classic Tank stuff. Heavy weights, powerful movements, and building a body for strength and power. We’re going to take his penchant for two-handed weapons into account as well, especially in our conditioning program. Also in consideration: massive shoulders. It wouldn’t be Warcraft without massive shoulders, am I right?
In The Powers of a Death Knight we’re going to take a look at the skills and attributes Arthas obtained through his life, both as a Paladin and then later as the prime Death Knight, host of the Lich King. Warhammers, greatswords, leadership, and more await us! Learn what it takes to take control, and lead your own followers to victory!
In The Dark Paladin, we’re going to look at Arthas as he was before he became The Lich King, and what sort of mistakes led to his fall from grace. We’re going to talk about impulsiveness, loyalty, self awareness, and self sacrifice. Arthas started out as a great hero, and I’m sure in his final moments he wished to be remembered as such as well. We’ll talk about how you can become heroic in your own life, and how to avoid falling victim to the calls of darkness.
I’m super psyched for all of this, it’s our first Warcraft character ever! Pretty appropriate to close out the tumultuous year of 2016 with such a powerful, fallen-from-grace archetype, as well. I hope you’re looking forward to it as much as I am!
Live boldly, change the world, and continue to be awesome.
