Overview:
Agent 47 is another highly-requested character here on Be a Game Character. It’s taken me a while, but we’ve finally made it to him!
Agent 47 is, without any amount of exaggeration, the ultimate assassin. Created as a clone from the genetic material of five different crime lords, he was raised from birth to be the ultimate contract killer. Growing up in an asylum operating as a front for the development of super-assassins, 47 lives and competes with other clones, all being put through rigorous training, learning, and conditioning to become perfect hitmen.
Agent 47 is granted some benefits from his science-fiction origins as a genetically engineered clone, including beyond-peak human conditioning, strength, stamina, and speed. His senses and recall abilities are also superior to other normal human beings, giving him the ability to rapidly mark and analyze targets, environments, and obstacles in his path. Obviously well suited for the Rogue archetype, I decided to place Agent 47 in the Assassin class, even though he does demonstrate a propensity towards long ranged projectile weapons like the Marksman. This is due to his extensive close-combat proficiency, and preference for close-range, silent assassination techniques.
Let’s take a look at our upcoming approach to Agent 47!
In The Agent 47 Workout, we’re going to design an exercise program to help you gain the body of a genetically-enhanced super-hitman. Now, of course, we don’t have access to genetic enhancements ourselves (and if you do I’m mad at you for not sharing with the whole class.) However, we can still strive to reach the peak of human physical fitness. There is, however, a catch: Agent 47 spends most of his time on the move from place to place, which means he’s probably not finding himself in a gym all that often. As such, we’re going to be devising a workout with as little equipment as possible!
In The Skills of a Hitman, we’re going to take a look at the diverse abilities of Agent 47, and how we can begin to acquire them as well. As usual, we’re going to talk about combat style first. From there we’re going to cover other aspects of his skillset, including disguise, social engineering, analysis, and problem solving.
Finally, in The Mind of a Killer we’re going to take a look at 47’s cryptic, probably severely damaged psyche. The dude is obviously carrying some serious baggage, and displays a lot of the classic signs of being a full-blown sociopath. At the same time, however, he displays rare moments of humanity, loyalty, and even – dare I say it – empathy? Can we learn anything from this incredibly fractured mind?
This should be a great series. Despite his taciturn personality, Agent 47 is a really interesting character, and definitely a fan favorite for coverage here on the blog. The next two weeks should be great!
Also, I’m happy to announce the YouTube channel will have five videos going up this week, with our usual Power Minute today, Q&A Tuesday tomorrow, Going Superhuman on Wednesday, ??? on Thursday, and a new Snapchat Splat on Saturday.
What’s ??? you ask? Might want to tune in on Thursday and find out…
Live boldly, change the world, and continue to be awesome!
