Jackie:
So I have finally had a loss! Unfortunately, I now live in the sad land of regret because while I did not do excessively horrible this weekend, I didn’t do well either… However, I can only do as well this week as I did last and I need to overcome my weekend downfalls. I really think I will begin running on the weekends to counterbalance any indulgence. Overall, my will power during the week was amazing! So while I’m sad now, I did do really well. I’m sad because I should have done better this weekend and I let myself slide. Time to get back to work.

Dan:
Woohoo, another loss week for me. Didn’t get all the workouts in that I would have liked, but I did get in a strength workout and a run, so it’s better than nothing. I did pretty well on my diet this week, including a game and party night with friends yesterday where we all brought healthy food. I made kale chips, Jackie made low-fat spinach artichoke dip with whole grain chips, and our friends brought vegetables with low-fat dressing, and pulled chicken on whole wheat rolls. Dessert was spiced apples slow cooked in a crock pot with frozen yogurt.
It’s really a good idea to try to surround yourself with people that are working towards common goals. When I asked our friends about doing healthy food for the evening a couple days beforehand, they informed us the were already planning on it, which was great. At home, having both Jackie and myself working towards a common goal of better fitness helps a lot, especially when it comes to things like grocery shopping and food preparation.
Next week I really want to make ratcheting up my workouts a bit, making sure I get in at least four days of concerted exercise, but shooting for five. Also want to be in bed by 10:30 PM every night, so I get lots of rest and keep my sleep schedule normalized. Wish me luck!
