Be a Beacon

It’s a pretty tumultuous time right now.  No matter where you stand on political issues, I think it’s fair to say that many countries are experiencing some sort of upheaval right now.  I know all I hear lately is people pointing at one or the other, screaming about how they’re right or wrong.

Now, personally, I’m all for pointing out wrongs where they happen, and righting them when I can.

But that’s not what this is about.  No, today, I would like to charge you, with a quest.

Be a beacon.

I don’t care where you may fall on the political spectrum right now, or who you may or may not stand for.  What I care about is you, personally, being a beacon of goodness to those around you.  Do right by other people, perform good acts just because they are good things to do.  Doing the right thing is always the right thing.

We’ve got a lot of conflict right now, and that’s not always a bad thing, but I stress, above all else, that you take some time out of your day to think about what you personally can do to help your fellow human being.

Like it or not, we’re all on this little dust mote together.  Let’s overwhelm 2017 with a wave of positivity, hope, and brave support for each other.  Be a beacon of goodness to those around you.  Together, we can turn this year into something for humanity to be proud of.

Live boldly, change the world, and continue to be awesome.
