Overview:

Spunky, bubbly, and energetic, Tracer’s kind of the poster character for Blizzard’s new game, Overwatch!  Honestly she’s such a great character that I just couldn’t resist covering her for our next character!  Lena “Tracer” Oxton was the youngest person ever to be signed up for Overwatch’s experimental flight program!  However, an accident during an extremely risky test ended up throwing her out of her own time-stream, giving her a condition known as chronal disassociation.

Chronal disassociation caused her to blink in and out of time and space, with little to no control, until Winston invented a device to stabilize her in time.  Now able to control her blinky-winky existence, Tracer became one of Overwatch’s most capable agents, until the organization’s dissolution.

With her super-agility, teleportation, and speed, it was easy to place Tracer in the Rogue archetype.  However, picking her class was a bit more difficult.  With her bombs, you could say Saboteur, however her slight build goes a bit against the rough-and-tumble physicality of that class.  Her proficiency with her her Pulse Pistols could also place her in the Sniper class, although they’re a bit short range for that.  Finally, I settled on the Assassin class, mainly because that’s kind of her in-game role anyway.

Let’s take a look at how we’re going to cover Tracer in this breakdown!

TracerWorkout

In The Tracer Workout, we’re going to build the body of a super-agile British super-agent.  Tracer’s obviously not very bulky, and though her strength isn’t exactly put on display in-game, I’m willing to bet that she’s not much of a powerlifter, either.  As such, we’re going to be building a slim, fast, extremely capable frame.  Think like a teleporting gymnast, or maybe a less-cynical Faith (who also has the ability to travel through time.)

TracerSkills

In Time Traveling for Dummies, we’re going to take a look at Tracer’s peculiar skills and abilities.  She’s an extremely skilled combatant, even without factoring in her teleportation and time reversal abilities.  Remember, she was the youngest person ever inducted into the Overwatch test pilot program.  Add in those extra super-human abilities, however, and you have a force to be reckoned with.  We may not be able to teleport or travel through time (yet,) but we can talk about force multipliers, both in and out of combat situations.  Additionally, we’re going to talk about what sort of skills would someone would need to have to be considered for an experimental test pilot program.

TracerMind

In The Innocence of Tracer we’re going to really try to get into the bubbly, overly-energetic head of Overwatch’s top agent.  Despite regularly being in violent situations, Tracer retains an air of childlike innocence and happiness.  She has a chipper attitude that just doesn’t quit, and she gives off an aura of energy that you can’t help but feel.  After two ambiguous/insane anti-heroes (looking at you, Deadpool and Krieg,) this is kind of going to be like mouthwash for your brain.  Get ready for that minty fresh feeling!

I’m excited for this one!  Tracer’s got that kind of fun energy that just kind of rubs off on you, and I have to say I’m feeling it already.  This is going to be great!  I’ll see you again on Monday for The Tracer Workout.  Until then, remember to live boldly, change the world, and continue to be awesome!
