Something is always better than nothing!

something is better than nothing

Sorry for the late post, folks.  I think I jinxed myself last night by saying I had my sleeping under control, because I was treated to a lovely night of insomnia that kind of ruined daytime productivity, hahaha.  That said, that fits perfectly in the theme of today’s post…

Something is always better than nothing!

My goal today was to give you a lovely new video set on pushup progressions and advanced types of pushups.  Unfortunately, that just wasn’t in the cards for today, as even now (10 PM) I only just managed to squeeze in my workout for the day and sit down to finish this article.  So you get your lovely new video on Thursday, not today, but today you still get a post, and that, my friends is definitely better than nothing!  In fact, I think this post is quite lovely, too! =)

I’ve had some questions and comments as of late on some of the workouts and character breakdowns we have.  One person questioned whether it would be better to do a full, set workout instead of The Loading Screen Workout.  I said yes, absolutely, please look into any number of the great, character-themed workouts we have here, and do them regularly.  However, if you find yourself lacking in time or motivation to do something, then please, squeeze in a Loading Screen Workout when you can.  Why?

Because something is always better than nothing!

Someone else said they love Ezio, and the Ezio Auditore workout, but they weren’t really comfortable running much because of knee issues, and asked if it was fine if they walked instead of progressing to running.  I said absolutely, walk as best you can, and maybe try biking as well, if you’re up to it!  Would running have been a more intense workout than walking?  Probably.

But something is ALWAYS better than nothing!

A friend of mine is having a hard time getting their independent freelance project together.  They feel like they don’t have enough time, and their regular job is swallowing up all the extra time they have to work on their new business idea.  They said sometimes they only had five to ten minutes at the end of their day that they could devote to it, and that it would take forever to get done at that rate.  I said, hey, put in those ten minutes a night anyway, if you believe in the project.

BECAUSE SOMETHING IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN NOTHING!!

Sensing a theme here?  Good.  Think about The Legend of Zelda series.  The only time you pick up a full heart contained is after you beat a big boss, and even then, that’s after slogging your way through a trap and enemy-infested dungeon.  The rest of the time, you’re picking up tiny heart pieces one by one, until they stack up to a full container.

Your life will only improve if you work at it, incrementally, in pieces, over time.  If your only exercise capability is walking three times a week, then guess what?  You’re getting three times the exercise that you would be sitting on the couch all the time.  If you only have time to squeeze in a Loading Screen workout, who cares?  It’s a hell of a lot better than not squeezing in any workout at all.  You only have an hour or two a week to devote to moving up in your station in life, or to put into some new business idea?  Guess what, that’s an hour or two closer to your goal, every single week.

If you let yourself be defeated by seeing only what you can’t do, instead of just doing whatever it is you can, then you’re never going to get where you want to be.

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”

-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Always do whatever it is you can.  I don’t care what it is, do it.  If it’s not the recommended workout because you’re not there yet?  That’s fine!  Do what you can!  No matter what, always keep moving forward.

Thursday is our next post, and should be a video post as well!  Until then, remember to live boldly, change the world, and continue to be awesome.
